Allow a Full Melt Pool: When you first light your candle, let it burn until the melted wax reaches the edges of the jar. This helps prevent tunneling and ensures an even burn in the future. This usually takes about 2-4 hours. The general rule of thumb is let the candle burn 1 hour for every inch in diameter. (3 hours for a candle that is 3" in diameter).
Trim Your Wick: Before each use, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch (6mm). This helps the candle burn more cleanly and evenly.
Burn Time: Avoid burning your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. This prevents the candle from overheating and helps maintain a clean burn.
Use a Candle Snuffer to Extinguish: This reduces smoke, prevents wax splatter and prolongs the wick life
Safe Burning Practices: Always burn your candle on a heat-resistant surface, away from drafts, flammable objects, and out of reach of children and pets. NEVER leave a burning candle unattended.
Repurpose the Jar: Once your candle is finished, you can clean out the jar and reuse it for storage, as a planter, or for other DIY projects. To remove the remaining wax, pour hot water into the jar and let it sit until the wax melts and floats to the top.
Enjoy your candle! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. 😊
